Tarbrax Community Council

The application for construction of an anemometer mast on Stallashaw Moss and the proposed WindFarm were discussed at a meeting of the Community Council held at Tarbrax Hall on 12th August.

The motion:

"This Community Council opposes the proposal to erect a windfarm at Stallashaw Moss and calls on our Councillor, Ian Gray, to oppose the planning application to erect a Meteorological Mast (CL/04/0527)"
was passed with 10 votes for, no votes against and 6 abstentions*.

Councillor Gray undertook to represent the views of the Community Council on this matter and has subsequently advised that, in response to the number of objections received, the application will be considered by South Lanarkshire Council's 'Local Area Committee' rather than be dealt with as a 'delegated' matter.

No date has yet been set, but it is unlikely that the Local Area Committee will consider the application before its meeting on Tuesday 28th September.
