Muirhall Wind Farm Planning Application

News Update!
An addendum to the Environmental Statement from Muirhall Windfarm Ltd. has been published. A copy of the addendum is available for viewing at the Council offices in Lanark.

If you wish to submit a representation you must do so within 28 days from notification (notice was given in the Lanark Gazette, 16th Aug 2006).

Notice is hereby given that an environmental statement has been submitted to South Lanarkshire Council by Muirhall Wind Farm Ltd relating to the planning application in respect of the erection of six wind turbines, access tracks and ancillary infrastructure at land at Stallashaw Moss, Auchengray (23 March 2005).

Any person who wishes to make representations to South Lanarkshire Council about the environmental statement should make them .



Cobbinshaw Wind Farm

News has just come in of plans for a windfarm on the edges of Cobbinshaw Reservoir. Its thought that it could be for around 5 wind turbines.



Harrows Law Wind Farm Planning Application

Harrows Law WindFarm - s.36 (Scottish Executive)

The Harrows Law windfarm proposal is for 37 turbines 110metres (360feet) high immediately beside the Pentlands Regional park and lying between the villages of Tarbrax, Dolphinton and Carnwath.

welcomeThe 'Friends of Stallashaw Moss' are opposing the construction of one of Scotland's tallest wind farms in a setting likely to cause unprecedented environmental & social intrusion in an area of immense vulnerability.

The proposed development will dominate the landscape for miles around with 6 turbine masts 262ft tall topped with a 3 bladed rotor measuring 295ft in diameter. All on an exposed site nearly 900ft high!

The 'candidate' wind turbine which has been proposed for the Stallashaw Moss site is the Vestas V90-3.0 MW, designed by "Vestas Wind Systems A/S", head-quartered in Denmark.

The Vestas website says: "Vestas have erected a number of V90-3.0 MW prototypes which must complete a satisfactory test period before serial production starts in 2004".
